Eye tracking
Eyetracking provides additional insights into the materials being tested via easy to understand, objective and insightful visualisations and statistical outputs. These outputs work to uncover and highlight areas of user interest, confusion, interaction issues, and the order in which users visually interact with the materials.
Eye tracking user sessions are very similar to standard usability sessions in that the participants are asked to perform tasks on a website while being observed and interviewed by a moderator. Where eye tracking sessions differ is in the use of our Tobii T60 eye tracker monitor, which records the participant’s eye movements.
Eye tracking is particularly useful for:
- A/B testing of design options
- Advertising testing
- Testing visual designs in terms of how they support the usability of a website
- Usability of processes and workflows
The use of the Tobii T60 is completely unobtrusive to the participant as it is housed within the testing room monitor. All of the participant’s eye movements are captured for later analysis while both the moderator and observers view exactly where the participant is looking in real time.
