The Challenge:
WorkSafe required feedback on an online application which had been purchased as an off-the-shelf product, prior to its launch. Our usability experts provided an independent view of the positive and negative aspects of the form and recommended that a number of significant changes needed to be made.
Our Approach:
UsabilityOne conducted a one day workshop to review the online application and discuss recommendations.
The Outcome:
Key specific issues that were highlighted:- Due to the complex decision making process involved a follow up phone call was recommended. This was considered along with business strategy.
- Recommendation to remove the need to sign up especially as this was a one off process.
- Reducing the steps within the registration process to reduce drop-out rates.

In addition, the workshop demonstrated the importance of independent usability advice (even with off-the-shelf products) as the costs associated with starting from scratch greatly outweighed those associated with the number of problems the form would have raised had it gone live without usability research.
